How can we reduce childhood obesity?

HOME / THE HIVE: Time to Trim / Remove Children from the Homes of Morbidly Obese Parents

Remove Children from the Homes of Morbidly Obese Parents

0

Children learn from their parents, that's a given. What some parents don't understand is that children learn by example far easier than they do by instruction. If a parent has a BMI over 40, there is a higher incidence of childhood obesity in their children. This proposal would get both parents and children motivated to exercise and eat healthy for fear of being separated. While drastic, the danger obese parents place on their children by way of negative example should not be tolerated, and the lifestyle the children of obese parents learn to emulate has significant, lifelong effects. We remove children from the homes of emotionally and physically abusive parents. We remove children from the homes of parents who abuse substances. Is obesity not just an outward sign of a substance (food) abuse problem?
